ENERGETICS

Electrical energetics is one of the main areas of activity in which VUPEX a.s. is fully engaged.  We conduct analyses and studies in this field of expertise. We analyse the balance between electrical power consumption and production in Slovakia and the technical, operational and economic parameters of Slovak power grids. We make prognoses of short-term and mid-term electricity consumption and of the load exerted on power grid nodes. We perform analyses of the electrical power extraction from various sources using primary power generation sources, etc.

The topic of renewable energy sources (RES) has been becoming popular and frequently discussed over the last decade and the company VUPEX has been taking an active part in this process. We analyse almost all the types of RES (water, solar, wind, biomass, biogas).

The heating industry is another important area in which the company is active. With regard to the heating industry, we deal with the economy and reliability of heat supply, the possibilities of using cogeneration units in heat supply centres and the strategies of supplying the heat from several sources to a central heat supply system. We also conduct designing activities and prepare documentation for the repairs and reconstruction of heat substations and hot water service piping.

Hydroenergetics has been one of the company’s main areas of activity since it was established in 1992. As regards hydropower engineering, we analyse the current possibilities of exploiting the primary technically usable hydroenergetic potential of Slovak watercourses by selecting suitable localities for constructing mini hydropower plants and hydro accumulation power plants and by assessing individual water management profiles.

The company is partially engaged in the field of nuclear energetics. In this area of expertise, we have analyzed an impact of versatile approaches to a nuclear fuel cycle, the economic effectivity of nuclear source performance regulation and the cooperation of nuclear sources with hydro power plants in regulating their performance, etc.
